What they need

We are seeking a Vulnerability Management and Asset Discovery Consultant to support enterprise Qualys scanning, asset reconciliation, and Qualys Cloud Agent deployment across server and desktop environments. This role contributes to attack surface reduction and foundational security data hygiene across cross-functional infrastructure teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fulfill ad hoc and recurring Qualys scan requests across enterprise server and desktop assets.
  • Analyze vulnerability scan results, validate findings, and communicate prioritized remediation actions to technical stakeholders.
  • Raise, coordinate, and manage IT change tickets (CRs) for regular vulnerability scan windows and agent deployment activities.
  • Perform multi-platform asset coverage analysis, cross-referencing expected asset inventories (Candor report, Tanium) against reporting Qualys assets.
  • Identify and categorize agent coverage gaps, including uninstalled/missing agents, inconsistent host naming, provisioning failures, and silent reporting drops.
  • Prepare monthly discovery, true-up documentation, and executive operational reporting.
  • Adhere strictly to enterprise security, quality, documentation, and operational policies.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • 6 to 9 years of hands-on experience in vulnerability management lifecycle and cybersecurity operations.
  • Extensive hands-on proficiency with Qualys vulnerability scanning and Qualys Cloud Agent installation, configuration, and health monitoring.
  • Solid understanding of IT asset discovery, inventory reconciliation, and agent deployment across Windows and Linux environments.
  • Proven experience raising and managing IT change requests (ITIL/ServiceNow).
  • Strong analytical ability to translate raw vulnerability and asset data into structured operational reports.

Preferred / Supplementary Skills:

  • Working knowledge of Tanium, ServiceNow CMDB, or related IT asset management platforms.
  • Understanding of standard vulnerability frameworks (CVE, CVSS, NVD).
  • Qualys Certified Specialist (VMDR / CSAM) or relevant security/ITIL certifications.
