The Job!

As the Junior Quantitative fullstack Developer, you will sit within a quantitative investment-focused team and help build the core services, APIs, and shared foundations supporting the broader product platform. Working at the intersection of engineering and product, you will turn business and product requirements into reliable technical solutions while considering how the systems you build ultimately serve their users.

• Design, build, and maintain core backend services and APIs that power product features.
• Develop shared platform components used across frontend and backend applications.
• Build and improve data pipelines and integrations across the platform.
• Contribute to developer tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing to maintain reliable services.
• Partner closely with product and design teams to translate business and user requirements into clear technical designs.
• Support gradual product rollouts and feature flags to introduce changes safely.
• Instrument services using logging, metrics, and telemetry to support reliability and performance.
• Document platform capabilities and APIs so other teams can confidently build upon them.
• Collaborate across engineering, product, design, and other business stakeholders to develop durable, scalable solutions.

What You Bring to the Job

You are an analytically minded and curious developer who cares about more than simply making the code work. You think about how systems operate end-to-end, understand the business problem behind what you are building, and consider the needs of the end user when developing technical solutions. You are collaborative, systematic, and interested in creating clean, reliable products that deliver meaningful value.

• 2–4 years of software development experience with exposure to backend services, platform engineering, or data pipelines.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for developing services and working with data.
• Understanding of web application architecture, including frontend and backend request flows.
• Exposure to cloud platforms, with Microsoft Azure preferred, including containers and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with API design and developing clear, well-structured endpoints.
• Familiarity with event-driven architecture and telemetry patterns.
• Experience leveraging AI tools or technologies within software development, product development, data workflows, or technical problem-solving.
• Strong product and customer mindset with the ability to consider end-user needs when designing and implementing technical solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to understand the business context behind technical requirements and translate business or product problems into effective technology solutions.
• Ability to clearly communicate technical decisions to product stakeholders and non-technical collaborators.
• Familiarity with React and TypeScript for frontend development is considered an asset.
• Familiarity with feature flags and controlled product rollouts is considered an asset.
• Experience within investment management, hedge funds, private equity, financial services , or working with financial/investment products is strongly preferred.
• Bachelor of Science or equivalent experience preferred.

Expected Compensation: USD $120,000–$135,000 + 30% Bonus
