The Opportunity

We are seeking an exceptional Quantitative Developer / Core Software Engineer to design and develop the critical technology infrastructure underpinning quantitative analytics, model execution and integration across the firm's investment platforms.

This is not a quantitative research or model development position. The emphasis is on engineering the sophisticated systems that enable quantitative models to operate efficiently, reliably and at institutional scale.

The successful candidate will combine deep expertise in Python, C#/.NET or Java with exceptional algorithmic problem-solving ability and a sophisticated understanding of software architecture.

The Role

  • Architect and develop high-performance quantitative analytics infrastructure using C#/.NET and/or Java.
  • Engineer core platforms responsible for the execution, integration and operational deployment of quantitative models.
  • Build sophisticated calculation engines and computational frameworks supporting complex financial analytics.
  • Develop scalable infrastructure capable of processing large datasets and executing computationally intensive workloads.
  • Integrate quantitative models into production systems, ensuring robust connectivity between analytical components, data infrastructure and investment applications.
  • Design and optimise distributed services, asynchronous processing frameworks and multithreaded applications.
  • Develop reusable libraries, APIs and core engineering components supporting investment and risk technology.
  • Identify and resolve complex performance bottlenecks, architectural limitations and computational inefficiencies.
  • Collaborate with quantitative researchers, investment professionals and engineering teams to translate complex analytical requirements into robust production systems.
  • Take ownership of technically demanding engineering projects where computational efficiency, correctness and reliability are non-negotiable.

Candidate Profile

  • Algorithms & Data Structures: Exceptional command of algorithm design, computational complexity, advanced data structures and optimisation techniques. Candidates must be capable of reasoning through computationally challenging problems independently.
  • Core Software Engineering: Deep expertise in Python, C#/.NET or Java, including object-oriented design, memory management, concurrency, multithreading and performance optimisation.
  • Quantitative Infrastructure: Experience developing calculation engines, analytical frameworks, model execution platforms or computationally intensive financial applications.
  • Systems Architecture: Strong understanding of distributed systems, asynchronous processing, parallel computation, scalability and fault-tolerant architecture.
  • Performance Engineering: Ability to analyse computational bottlenecks, optimise execution efficiency and design systems capable of handling complex analytical workloads.
  • Database Engineering: Strong SQL proficiency, including data modelling, query optimisation, indexing and efficient processing of large datasets.
  • Computer Science Fundamentals: Excellent grounding in algorithms, operating systems, networking, software architecture and computational efficiency.
  • Financial Markets: Experience within hedge funds, investment banks, asset managers or sophisticated financial technology environments is highly desirable.
  • Academic & Intellectual Rigour: A strong academic background in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or another highly quantitative discipline is advantageous.
