About the Role
We are looking for a Quantitative Research & Technical Analysis Analyst to support our fund managers in developing, backtesting, and evaluating trading strategies, particularly in equity derivatives.
The role will also involve identifying sector and stock momentum through technical and quantitative analysis. The primary focus will be on Indian equity and derivatives markets (NSE/BSE), with occasional research into global markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Derivatives Strategy Development: Develop, backtest, and optimize futures and options trading strategies, including directional, volatility-based, and hedging strategies.
- Technical Analysis: Identify market trends, stock momentum, breakouts, and sector rotation opportunities using technical indicators.
- Quantitative Research: Analyze historical market data, evaluate trading signals, and assess strategy performance across different market conditions.
- Options Analytics: Analyze options Greeks, implied volatility, open interest, and other derivatives indicators.
- Sector & Industry Momentum: Develop models and screeners to identify outperforming and underperforming sectors and stocks.
- Research Automation: Build Python-based tools, automated screeners, and dashboards to support investment decisions.
- Global Markets: Assist with quantitative and technical research on international markets when required.
Required Skills
- Programming: Strong proficiency in Python (Pandas, NumPy) for financial data analysis and strategy backtesting.
- Derivatives: Good understanding of Indian futures and options markets, options strategies, Greeks, and volatility.
- Technical Analysis: Experience with RSI, MACD, moving averages, relative strength, momentum indicators, and price-volume analysis.
- Quantitative Skills: Knowledge of statistics, time-series analysis, backtesting, risk metrics, and strategy optimization.
- Tools: Familiarity with TradingView, Pine Script, AmiBroker, VectorBT, Backtrader, or similar platforms.
- Data Analysis: Ability to work with historical market data, APIs, Excel, and SQL.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, or related fields.
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in quantitative research, proprietary trading, derivatives research, or investment management.
- Experience in Indian equity and F&O markets is strongly preferred.
- CFA, FRM, or CQF qualifications are advantageous but not mandatory.
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a technically strong, market-oriented quantitative analyst who can translate fund managers' trading ideas into testable strategies, independently conduct research, and identify investment opportunities through data-driven analysis.
Prior hands-on experience building and backtesting trading strategies in Python is essential.
