Quantity Surveyor Assistant

About the role

As a Quantity Surveyor Assistant at OLGAD SDN BHD, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Quantity Surveying team in delivering high-quality construction projects. This full-time position is based in Alor Setar, Kedah, where you will contribute to the company's strategic objectives within the Construction industry.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting the Quantity Surveying team in the preparation of bills of quantities, cost estimates, and tender documents
• Conducting site measurements and quantity take-offs to support project costing and planning
• Liaising with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate cost data and timely project delivery
• Supporting the preparation of monthly progress reports, variation orders, and final accounts
• Maintaining detailed project records and documentation
• Collaborating with the wider project team to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement effective cost control measures
• Preparing progress claim from sub-contractor, prior to obtaining approval from QS Exec
• Fill in sub-contractor 's retention sum of 5% during project claim by sub-contractors
• Assist in daily project site operations and documentation are in line with the SOP
• Check client payments, prior to carriying out Progress claim (for long term project) and notify QS Exec
• Issue work orders to sub-cons when require

What we're looking for

• Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline
• 1-3 years of experience in a Quantity Surveying or construction cost management role
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Proficient in using relevant software, such as Autodesk, Microsoft Office, and cost management applications
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team
• Good time management and organisational skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
