Quantity Surveyor

The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing and monitoring project quantities, costs, estimates, and commercial documentation. The position will prepare quantity take-offs, cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQ), progress measurements, billing evaluations, and cost reports to ensure that project costs are properly monitored and controlled.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quantity take-offs based on approved drawings, plans, specifications, and actual site conditions.
• Prepare and review Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and cost estimates.
• Prepare material, labor, equipment, and other construction cost estimates.
• Review drawings and specifications to identify discrepancies, omissions, and potential cost impacts.
• Conduct actual quantity measurements at the project site when required.
• Monitor project quantities and compare actual accomplishments against the approved BOQ.
• Evaluate and verify subcontractor progress billings and supporting documents.
• Prepare progress measurement and billing documents for the project.
• Monitor material usage and quantities against approved estimates.
• Assist in preparing variation orders, change orders, additional works, and deductions.
• Prepare cost comparisons and assist in value engineering activities.
• Coordinate with Site Engineers, Project Engineers, QA/QC, suppliers, subcontractors, and project management.
• Monitor project costs and identify potential cost overruns.
• Maintain updated records of quantities, estimates, billings, variations, and project costs.
• Assist in preparation of monthly project accomplishment and cost reports.
• Review supplier and subcontractor quotations and conduct cost comparisons.
• Assist the Project Manager/Project Engineer in commercial and contractual matters.
• Maintain proper documentation for government and client requirements.
• Perform other duties related to quantity surveying and project cost control as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying, estimating, cost control, or construction project management.
• Experience in building construction or civil works preferred.
• Experience in DPWH/government projects is an advantage but not required.
• Strong knowledge of quantity take-off, BOQ preparation, cost estimating, and construction measurement.
• Experience evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Experience in progress billing and accomplishment measurement.
• Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and specifications.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, numerical, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Able to work independently and coordinate effectively with site/project teams.
• Willing to work on-site and be assigned to project locations.

Pay: Php28,000.00 - Php35,000.00 per month
