About the role

Wei Yuan Construction Management Inc is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Manila City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in our construction projects. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing costs, contracts, and procurement throughout the project lifecycle. This role is strategically important to our operations, ensuring that projects remain financially viable, comply with contractual obligations, and are delivered on schedule and within budget.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing accurate bills of quantities and cost estimates for construction projects
• Conducting detailed measurements and analysis of construction drawings and specifications
• Managing project budgets and monitoring expenditure against approved estimates
• Preparing tender documents and liaising with contractors during the bidding process
• Negotiating and finalizing contracts with suppliers, sub-contractors, and service providers
• Maintaining detailed records of all material costs, labor costs, and variations
• Identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety standards
• Tracking variations and claims, preparing documentation for change orders
• Providing regular cost reports and financial updates to project management and clients
• Conducting site inspections to verify the quantity and quality of work completed
• Collaborating with architects, engineers, and project managers to resolve cost-related issues
• Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and industry standards

What we're looking for

• Professional qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline from a recognized institution
• Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, particularly standard forms such as FIDIC or local equivalent contracts
• Proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Proven ability to prepare accurate bills of quantities, cost estimates, and financial reports
• Strong negotiation and communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with all stakeholders
• Understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and building regulations
• Experience in value engineering and cost management techniques
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Professional membership with a recognized surveying body is advantageous
