QUANTITY SURVEYOR (MANDARIN SPEAKER)

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, review and manage cost estimates, budgets, BOQ, BQ and tender documents
• Handle quantity take-off, measurement and valuation of construction works
• Monitor project costs, budgets, expenditures and cost variations throughout the project
• Prepare and evaluate progress claims, interim valuations, variation orders and final accounts
• Review subcontractor claims, quotations, invoices and supporting documents
• Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotations
• Monitor and manage variation orders, VO claims, EOT-related cost implications and contractual matters
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and project teams on commercial matters
• Conduct site measurements and verify completed works for valuation and payment purposes
• Prepare cost reports, commercial reports and regular updates for management
• Identify potential cost risks and provide recommendations to management
• Ensure proper documentation and records of contracts, claims, variations and commercial matters
• Assist the Project Manager and management team with cost control, contract administration and commercial planning
• Perform other ad-hoc commercial and project-related duties as assigned by management

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in Quantity Surveying / Construction
• Strong experience in cost estimation, quantity take-off, BOQ, progress claims, VO and final accounts
• Good knowledge of construction contracts, cost control and contract administration
• Experience handling subcontractor claims, variation orders and payment certification
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and quantity surveying / measurement software
• Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications and project documentation
• Experience in Design & Build / industrial / commercial construction projects is an advantage
• Strong analytical, numerical, negotiation and problem-solving skills
• Mandarin speaking & understanding – MUST
• Must be able to communicate and explain project costs, claims, variations and commercial matters clearly to management in Mandarin
• Strong communication skills in Mandarin and English
• Able to work independently, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Willing to work at project sites and travel when required
• Responsible, detail-oriented and able to work effectively under pressure
