Quantity Surveyor

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BQ), tender documents, and quotations for construction projects.
• Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure competitive pricing and compliance with project requirements.
• Prepare, review, and submit progress claims, variation orders (VO), final accounts, and payment certificates.
• Monitor project costs, budgets, and expenditures to ensure effective cost control and financial performance.
• Review contract documents, drawings, specifications, and tender requirements to identify commercial risks and opportunities.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers on contractual, commercial, and payment matters.
• Maintain proper documentation for contracts, claims, quotations, project records, and commercial correspondence.
• Support procurement activities by preparing material comparisons, cost analysis, and commercial evaluations.
• Assist the Project Manager and Contract Manager in commercial reporting, project forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Perform any other commercial, contractual, or quantity surveying duties assigned by Management from time to time.

Job Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in quantity surveying or commercial functions within the construction industry.
• Good knowledge of tendering, contract administration, progress claims, variation orders, and cost control.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD; experience with QS software (e.g., CostX or Glodon) is an added advantage.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is a significant advantage for liaising with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors.
