Quantity Surveyor

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join Adecotech Pte Ltd. in the Central Region on a full-time basis. This is a pivotal role within our Construction and Estimating division, where you will play a crucial part in managing project costs, preparing accurate estimates, and ensuring financial control throughout the construction lifecycle. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be instrumental in delivering value to our clients whilst maintaining profitability and ensuring projects are completed within budget parameters.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and bills of quantities for construction projects of varying scales and complexity
• Conduct thorough site visits and measurements to gather accurate data for estimating purposes
• Analyse project specifications, drawings and documentation to determine material and labour requirements
• Liaise with contractors, suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations and pricing information
• Monitor and control project costs, tracking expenditure against budgets and providing regular cost reports to management and clients
• Manage variations, claims and contract negotiations to protect the company's financial interests
• Prepare tender documentation and assist with the tender process, including bid reviews and value engineering recommendations
• Maintain comprehensive records of all cost data, estimates and project documentation for future reference and benchmarking
• Collaborate with project managers, architects and engineers to provide cost advice and feasibility assessments
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in quantity surveying

What we're looking for

• A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or a related discipline
• Professional membership or eligibility for membership with a recognised quantity surveying body (such as RICS or equivalent)
• Minimum of 3-5 years' practical experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry
• Strong proficiency in cost estimation software and Microsoft Office applications
• Demonstrated expertise in preparing bills of quantities, cost analyses and financial reports
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
• Strong commercial acumen and understanding of construction contracts and procurement processes
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Experience with building information modelling (BIM) and associated cost management tools is highly desirable
• Knowledge of Singapore construction industry standards and regulations is advantageous
