Quantity Surveyor

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join JF Foundation Pte Ltd in a full-time capacity. Based in the Kallang Central Region, this is a pivotal position within our contracts management division in the construction industry. As Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing project costs, budgets, and contractual obligations, ensuring that our construction projects are delivered on time and within budget whilst maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing and managing detailed cost estimates, budgets and financial forecasts for construction projects from inception to completion
• Monitoring and controlling project expenditure to ensure costs remain within approved budgets and identifying cost-saving opportunities
• Preparing bills of quantities (BoQs) and tender documentation for procurement processes
• Negotiating and managing contracts with suppliers, subcontractors and vendors to secure competitive rates and favourable terms
• Conducting site measurements, inspections and valuations to ensure accuracy of project data and compliance with specifications
• Processing and evaluating variation orders, claims and changes to project scope, assessing financial impact and maintaining accurate records
• Preparing interim valuations and final accounts, ensuring all payments are properly documented and authorised
• Liaising with project managers, architects, engineers and clients to provide cost advice and support informed decision-making
• Maintaining comprehensive project documentation, records and cost registers in compliance with company policies and contractual requirements
• Identifying and managing financial risks, providing cost planning and value engineering recommendations

What we're looking for

• Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline from a recognised institution
• Professional membership or eligibility with a recognised quantity surveying body (such as RICS, AIQS or equivalent)
• Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction or contracts management sector
• Proven expertise in cost estimation, budget management, contract administration and financial control
• Strong proficiency with standard quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
• Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams and stakeholder groups
• Knowledge of relevant construction standards, regulations and contractual frameworks (such as FIDIC conditions of contract)
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
