Quantity Surveyor

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join Dong Jian (Singapore) Pte Ltd in a full-time capacity, based in the Springleaf North Region. This is a pivotal role within our construction operations, where you will play a critical part in managing project costs, budgets, and financial performance. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for ensuring that all construction projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. This position offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to our company's success whilst working on diverse and challenging construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing and managing project budgets, cost estimates, and financial forecasts throughout all project phases
• Conducting detailed quantity take-offs and measurements from architectural and engineering drawings
• Liaising with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain competitive quotations and manage procurement processes
• Monitoring project expenditure and providing regular cost reports to project managers and senior stakeholders
• Reviewing and negotiating contract terms, variation orders, and claims to protect the company's financial interests
• Analysing project cash flows and identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality
• Preparing tender documentation and cost analyses for new business opportunities
• Maintaining accurate records of all project costs, payments, and financial transactions
• Collaborating with design teams, engineers, and contractors to resolve cost-related issues and optimise project delivery
• Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and industry standards throughout the project lifecycle

What we're looking for

• Diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline
• Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry
• Strong proficiency in cost estimation, budgeting, and financial analysis
• Demonstrated experience with contract administration and negotiation
• Competency in relevant quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
• Knowledge of Singapore construction regulations, standards, and best practices
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
• Professional certification such as RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) membership is advantageous
