Quantity Surveyor

About the role

Stonrich Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team in a full-time capacity. Based in Jurong West, West Region, this is a pivotal position within our construction estimating operations. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing project costs, preparing accurate estimates, and ensuring financial viability across our construction projects. Your expertise will directly impact project profitability and client satisfaction, making this role strategically important to our business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for construction projects from design drawings and specifications
• Conduct thorough cost analysis and feasibility studies to support project planning and budgeting
• Liaise with architects, engineers, and contractors to clarify project requirements and scope of works
• Monitor and track project costs throughout the construction phase, identifying and reporting variances
• Prepare tender documents, bills of quantities and specifications for competitive bidding processes
• Conduct market research and analyse supplier quotations to ensure competitive pricing
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation and cost records for audit and future reference
• Provide cost advice and recommendations to project managers and senior management
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate budgeting and cost control mechanisms
• Review and validate invoices and payment claims against contract terms and project progress

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Construction Management or equivalent qualification
• Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry
• Strong proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Solid understanding of construction methods, materials and industry standards
• Proven ability to prepare accurate bills of quantities and cost estimates
• Strong negotiation and communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively across all levels
• Knowledge of contract administration and procurement processes
• Familiarity with local building codes and regulations in Singapore
• Professional membership with organisations such as QSIE or equivalent is preferred
• Experience with BIM (Building Information Modelling) software is advantageous
