Quantity Surveyor

Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our Groundworks and Civil Engineering Company. We are based in Cumbria with a work area covering from Preston to Carlisle and from Kendal to Barrow. Typical projects include groundworks; drainage, roads, foundations and RC works.

Work is carried out on Housing, Industrial, Commercial and Public Authority Contracts.

Works are carried out under JCT / NEC Contracts.

The ideal candidate will have a proven background in relevant groundworks and civil engineering projects and will be required to provide commercial support with procurement, subcontract appointment, variations, valuations, payments and final accounts. You will ideally have at least 5 year’s experience and be used to working on 3/4 projects at a time. Degree qualified would be preferred but not essential. A proven track record in delivering projects of all sizes is required.

Measuring and evaluating works undertaken and compiling interim applications to be agreed with clients.

Updating and managing cash flow forecasts.

Undertaking and agreeing final account re-measures with clients and subcontractors.

Procurement of sub-contractors and contract negotiation.

Assessment and payment of subcontractors interim and final account applications.

Pricing and agreeing compensation events and variations.

Producing and submitting the final account.

Understanding profit and loss forecasts; and reporting to financial manager.

Establish cost control measures and co-ordinate to site team.
