About the role

MIN HAWK PTE. LTD. is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic construction team in Kampong Ubi, Central Region. This is a full-time position based on-site, offering a strategic opportunity to manage costs, contracts, and project finances on some of Singapore's most ambitious construction projects. As Quantity Surveyor, you will play a critical role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. This position has a direct impact on project profitability and client satisfaction, making it integral to our company's success.

Key responsibilities

1. Prepare accurate cost estimates, bills of quantities, and detailed budget forecasts for construction projects at all stages
2. Monitor project expenditure and maintain cost control throughout the construction phase, identifying and reporting cost variances
3. Manage variations, claims, and change orders, ensuring all documentation is complete and properly authorised
4. Prepare and negotiate contract terms with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to achieve optimal value for money
5. Conduct regular cost reconciliation and financial reporting to project stakeholders and senior management
6. Value engineering and cost optimisation exercises to identify savings opportunities without compromising quality
7. Liaise with architects, engineers, project managers, and clients to clarify specifications and resolve disputes
8. Maintain accurate project records, contracts, and correspondence in accordance with company procedures
9. Support the tendering process by preparing tender documentation and cost analysis
10. Assist in the preparation of progress claims and final accounts

What we're looking for

1. A professional qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or a related discipline from a recognised institution
2. Membership or eligibility for membership with a professional body such as RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or equivalent
3. Minimum of 3–5 years' relevant experience in quantity surveying on construction projects of similar scale and complexity
4. Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement practices, and contractual obligations
5. Proficiency in cost management software, building information modelling (BIM), and Microsoft Office applications
6. Excellent numerical and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail
7. Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage relationships with multiple stakeholders
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment
9. Sound understanding of construction methodologies, health and safety requirements, and industry best practices
10. Experience with Singapore construction standards and regulatory requirements is highly desirable
