QUANTITY SURVEYOR

About the role

Canggih Kilat Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Kuala Lumpur on a full-time basis. This is a pivotal position within our construction business, where you will play a crucial role in managing project costs, budgets, and financial controls. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget, whilst maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and professionalism. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse and challenging construction projects, contributing directly to the success of our organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documentation for construction projects
• Managing project budgets and monitoring expenditure throughout all project phases
• Conducting site inspections and measuring works to verify contract compliance and quantity accuracy
• Preparing variation orders and managing contractual claims between clients, contractors, and consultants
• Advising on cost control strategies and value engineering opportunities to optimise project outcomes
• Liaising with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure effective communication regarding financial matters
• Preparing progress reports and financial statements for project stakeholders
• Conducting final account negotiations and settlement of contractual disputes
• Maintaining accurate records of project documentation and financial data

What we're looking for

• Professional qualification as a Quantity Surveyor or equivalent (Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management)

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying within the construction industry.

• Proven expertise in cost estimation, budget management, and financial control

• Strong knowledge of standard forms of contract, including JCT, NEC, and local Malaysian contracts

• Proficiency in relevant software applications, including building information modelling (BIM) tools and quantity surveying software

• Excellent numeracy and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail

• Strong negotiation and communication skills to manage stakeholder relationships effectively

• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
