Quantity Surveyor

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join Capital Human Resource Management Pte. Ltd on a full-time basis. This is a key position within our construction team, based in the East Region. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing project costs, ensuring financial control, and delivering value for money across our construction projects. This role is essential to our business operations, as you will be responsible for cost planning, procurement management, and contractual oversight that directly impact project profitability and client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets for construction projects at the tender stage and throughout project delivery
• Conduct detailed cost analysis and value engineering to optimise project costs without compromising quality
• Manage procurement processes, including supplier selection, quotation analysis, and contract negotiations
• Monitor project expenditure and provide regular cost reporting and financial forecasting to project management and senior stakeholders
• Review and process contractor claims, variations, and change orders to ensure compliance with contract terms
• Prepare tender documents, bills of quantities, and specifications in accordance with industry standards
• Maintain accurate cost records and project documentation for audit and compliance purposes
• Liaise with contractors, clients, consultants and other stakeholders to resolve commercial and contractual matters
• Support the estimation and bidding process for new project opportunities

What we're looking for

• Diploma or degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline
• Professional membership with AIQS (Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors), RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors), or equivalent recognised body is highly desirable
• Minimum 5 years' professional experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry
• Strong knowledge of cost estimation, contract management, and procurement practices
• Proficiency with quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities with the capacity to manage stakeholder relationships effectively
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, terms and conditions, and commercial law
• Experience with building information modelling (BIM) is advantageous
