Quantity Surveyor

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates and project budgets.
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost planning.
• Prepare bills of quantities (BOQ) and tender documents.
• Evaluate contractor quotations and bids.
• Administer construction contracts and ensure compliance with contractual terms.
• Monitor project costs and prepare regular financial reports.
• Assess variations, claims, and change orders.
• Conduct site measurements and valuations of completed work.
• Prepare interim payment certificates and final accounts.
• Negotiate with contractors, suppliers, and clients to achieve cost savings.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and health and safety requirements.
• Identify and manage financial risks associated with construction projects.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional certification (e.g., RICS, AIQS, CIOB, or equivalent) is an advantage.
• Experience in construction cost management or quantity surveying.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of construction methods and materials.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or MS Excel).
• Knowledge of construction contracts and procurement processes.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Working Conditions

• Work is typically split between office and construction site environments.
• May require travel to project sites.
• Standard working hours with occasional overtime to meet project deadlines.
