What they need
About Us
Outlook Gardens is an award winning landscaping and garden design group, with work delivered across Ireland and Europe. Our Build Team designs and delivers high end landscape construction projects from concept through to completion and we are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to bring strong commercial control to that process.
The Role
Reporting to the Managing Director / Nursery Director, the Quantity Surveyor will take full commercial oversight of our landscape build projects - protecting profit margins, managing budgets and valuations and keeping cost reporting accurate and up to date across every contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Full commercial oversight of all landscape build contracts, protecting our minimum gross profit margin on every project.
- Set up and manage weekly reporting that tracks the profitability of each contract.
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, reviewing actual performance against quotations, contract prices and targets and analysing variances.
- Prepare reporting packs for the management meetings.
- Produce bills of quantities and resource schedules for each project.
- Supply cost and resourcing information to the project management team to support on budget programming.
- Manage project cash flow projections.
- Maintain a robust system for managing site variations and change orders and ensure compliance.
- Oversee a weekly contract accounts system with accurate, up-to-date reporting.
- Take on other reasonable duties as required to support the Build Team.
What We're Looking For
- Qualified Quantity Surveyor (RICS), with a minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience and up-to-date knowledge of QS standards.
- Construction-related industry experience essential; landscape or civil engineering background an advantage.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills, with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent IT skills, including advanced Excel.
- Comfortable working independently, while also being a strong team player who helps set and meet team targets.
- Honest, clear communicator with strong relationship-management skills across clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Self-starter with initiative, a hands-on, can-do attitude and a willingness to travel between sites.
- Pleasant, helpful and solutions-focused, with the drive to see a job through to a high standard.
What We Offer
Salary is negotiable and dependant on experience.
