Quantity Surveyor

Alumet is looking for a motivated and commercially focused Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team. Working on specialist façade projects, you will play a key role in protecting project profitability, managing valuations and variations, and supporting successful project delivery from award through to final account.

About the Role

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for the commercial management of allocated façade projects, ensuring accurate valuations, effective change control, and strong financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.

You will work closely with Contracts Managers, Project Managers, Design, Production, and Accounts teams, as well as liaising with Main Contractor Quantity Surveyors and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing and submitting monthly interim applications and valuations.
• Managing variations, change control, and final accounts.
• Administering subcontractor accounts and orders.
• Producing accurate cost reports, forecasts, and cash flow information.
• Monitoring project margins and identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
• Issuing contractual notices and maintaining commercial records.
• Supporting dispute resolution and contractual compliance.
• Collaborating with operational teams to ensure projects are delivered within budget.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven Quantity Surveying experience within a specialist subcontractor environment.
• Experience within façades, curtain walling, rainscreen, windows, or SFS sectors.
• Working knowledge of JCT and NEC subcontract forms.
• Strong understanding of valuations, variations, cash flow, and margin management.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate records.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Relevant higher education qualification, ideally BSc Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
• Awareness of Building Safety Act requirements and commercial recordkeeping.
• A proactive and solutions-focused approach to commercial management.
