Quantity Surveyor

Job Summary

A Quantity Surveyor is responsible for preparing accurate quantity take-offs, cost estimates, rate build-ups, and BOQs for bid submissions. The role ensures that all tender pricing is complete, competitive, and aligned with project requirements, drawings, and specifications.

Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineer or related field.
• Must be licensed in their field
• Strong knowledge of: Quantity surveying principles, rate analysis, material and labor costing, and construction methods and productivity.
• Proficient in: AutoCAD (for take-offs), MS Excel (advanced), Planswift, Bluebeam, CostX, or similar take-off tools (advantage)
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and scope documents.

Detailed Job Description:

• Cost Estimating & Budgeting: Prepare cost estimates and project budgets.
• Tendering & Contracts: Prepare tender documents, evaluate bids, and negotiate contracts.
• Cost Control: Monitor project costs, track expenditures, and forecast final costs.
• Risk Management: Identify financial risks and suggest mitigation strategies.
• Procurement: Manage the procurement of materials, labor, and subcontractors.
• Value Engineering: Suggest cost-effective alternatives without compromising quality.
• Final Account: Prepare final financial reports at project completion.
• Compliance & Legal: Ensure adherence to contracts and regulations.
• Client Liaison: Communicate with clients on cost-related issues and progress updates.
