Quantity Surveyor

About the role

This role involves preparing cost estimates, budgets, and Bills of Quantity (BOQ) for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) projects, reviewing tender documents and technical drawings, and conducting quantity take-offs and cost analysis for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and Bills of Quantity (BOQ) for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) projects
• Review tender documents, technical drawings, and project specifications
• Conduct quantity take-offs and cost analysis for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems
• Prepare tender submissions, quotations, and commercial proposals
• Monitor project costs and ensure expenditures remain within the approved budget
• Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations
• Prepare progress claims, variation orders, and final account documentation
• Coordinate with project, engineering, procurement, and site teams regarding project costs and budget control
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and support project profitability
• Prepare periodic cost reports and management summaries

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field
• Around 10 years of experience as Quantity Surveyor, Cost Control Engineer, Estimator, or similar role
• Experience handling construction, MEP, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or industrial projects
• Strong understanding of BOQ preparation, cost estimation, tendering, budgeting, and contract administration
• Familiar with project drawings and technical specifications
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and quantity surveying software
• Good analytical and negotiation skills
• Able to work independently and coordinate with multiple stakeholders
• English communication skills are preferred
• Experience working in MEP contractor environment is an advantage
