Quantity Surveyor

Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Review architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to prepare accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
• Perform pre-bid estimation for Building & Infrastructure Projects, Power Plants, Substations, and Transmission Line projects.
• Analyze tender documents, specifications, BOQs, and contract requirements.
• Identify scope gaps, design variations, and value engineering opportunities to optimize project costs.
• Prepare detailed quantity surveys in line with project requirements and industry standards.
• Coordinate with design, estimation, and tendering teams during bid preparation.
• Ensure compliance with applicable measurement standards and industry best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Diploma in Civil Engineering

8-12 years of experience in Quantity Surveying, preferably in Pre-Bid Estimation.

• Strong knowledge of Building & Infrastructure, Power Plant, Substation, and Transmission Line projects.

• Proficiency in:

• AutoCAD (2D/3D)

• Revit (BIM)

• PlanSwift

• MS Office Suite

• Strong understanding of architectural drawings, building systems, finishing materials, and technical specifications.

• Knowledge of international measurement standards such as:

• NRM 1, NRM 2 & NRM 3

• SMM7

• CESMM

• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
