What they need
For over 50 years, this respected Brisbane construction contractor has built its reputation on precision, integrity and a genuine investment in developing its people. Two opportunities now exist for Quantity Surveyors with around four years of experience to join the team, one within the built environment division and one within civil construction, with a clear pathway to grow into the commercial and contracts space.
Why Join This Team
This is a business that develops people for the long term rather than just filling a seat. Average staff tenure runs well past industry norms, and that comes from leadership that genuinely invests in early to mid career professionals. You'll be mentored directly by experienced industry professionals who will actively develop your skills beyond quantity surveying and into broader commercial management, giving you a real trajectory rather than a static role.
You'll also have access to:
- Corporate health insurance discounts
- An Employee Assistance Program for you and your family
- A dedicated workplace wellbeing initiative
- A newly renovated office with a fully equipped gym and staff lunches
- Genuine mentoring and a structured development pathway into commercial and contracts roles
The Opportunities
Based in Brisbane, these roles sit across two distinct parts of the business. One will support the built environment team, working on projects across sectors including aged care, education, commercial and industrial builds. The other will support the civil construction team, working across transport, water infrastructure and renewables projects. Both roles offer genuine exposure to live projects and the chance to build a broad, transferable skill set under experienced guidance.
What You'll Be Doing
- Preparing cost estimates, budgets and quantity take offs across live projects
- Assisting with the preparation and administration of subcontracts and progress claims
- Supporting cost control, variations processing and financial reporting
- Liaising with project teams, subcontractors and suppliers to gather information and resolve queries
- Building toward broader commercial and contracts management responsibilities as your experience develops
What You'll Bring
- Around four years of practical experience as a Quantity Surveyor, in either building or civil construction
- Tertiary qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related field
- A solid understanding of cost planning, measurement and contract documentation
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Confidence communicating with project teams, subcontractors and suppliers
- A genuine interest in building a long term career in commercial and contracts management
