Quantity Surveyor

Role Description This part-time remote Quantity Surveyor role at Service public de l'emploi / ORP - Amt für den Arbeitsmarkt / RAV focuses on supporting cost and contract management across construction and infrastructure projects. The Quantity Surveyor will prepare and review Bills of Quantities (BOQ), assist with budgeting and cost planning, and monitor project expenditures against approved budgets. Daily activities include analyzing cost data, preparing regular cost reports for project stakeholders, and supporting cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle. The role also involves collaborating with project managers, engineers, and finance teams to ensure accurate documentation, adherence to financial guidelines, and timely identification of variances. The Quantity Surveyor is expected to work independently, manage priorities efficiently, and maintain clear written records and reports while working remotely.

Qualifications

• Strong cost management capabilities, including Cost Control and Cost Management skills.
• Experience in Cost Planning and Cost Reporting for construction or infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in preparing and reviewing BOQ and related quantity surveying documentation.
• Solid analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, part-time setting and manage multiple tasks.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills in English; additional local language skills are an advantage.
• Proficiency with relevant software tools (e.g., MS Excel, cost estimation or QS software).
• Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Professional experience as a Quantity Surveyor or in a similar cost-focused role is highly beneficial.
