About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support our existing Quantity Surveyor in managing the commercial and cost aspects of construction projects.

The successful candidate will assist with quantity take-offs, cost estimation, project documentation, procurement, valuations, and other quantity surveying activities while gaining practical experience across ongoing projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQs), cost estimates, and project budgets.
• Conduct quantity take-offs and measurements from drawings and project specifications.
• Assist with preparing interim valuations, payment certificates, and cost reports.
• Support the preparation and review of tender documents and quotations.
• Assist with material and subcontractor cost analysis.
• Monitor project costs and expenditure against approved budgets.
• Assist in evaluating variations, claims, and additional works.
• Review project drawings, specifications, and other relevant documents.
• Maintain accurate records of project costs, measurements, and commercial documentation.
• Liaise with contractors, suppliers, consultants, and project teams as required.
• Support the Quantity Surveyor with day-to-day commercial and cost management activities.
• Carry out site measurements and inspections when required.

Requirements

• BSc or HND in Quantity Surveying from a reputable institution.
• 1–3 years of post-NYSC experience in Quantity Surveying or a related construction/commercial role.
• Good understanding of construction cost estimation, measurement, and BOQ preparation.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other relevant quantity surveying tools.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with project teams and under deadlines.
• Professional membership or progress toward relevant professional certification is an advantage.

Compensation Salary:

₦200,000 monthly, depending on experience and qualifications.
