Quantity Surveyor

About the role

The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for providing commercial supports for before, during and after sales, including for drawings proposal; and in aid for production; as well as manage any assigned ongoing projects, monitoring of site progress against materials ordered and to be ordered. The Quantity Surveyor reports to the Technical Manager, Head of Marketing & Sales, and General Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Review tender drawings, architectural drawings, structural drawings, specifications, schedules and other relevant project documents to identify the scope of works and material requirements
• Carry out quantity take-off and measurement of steel stiffeners, lintels, accessories, connectors and other related materials based on drawings, schedules, specifications and/or information provided by the client
• Prepare Bill of Quantities (BQ), material schedules and quantity summaries for tender and commercial submission purposes
• Coordinate with the Solutions Engineer / Technical Team to ensure that the quantities measured are based on the correct stiffener positions, profiles, sizes, lengths and design requirements
• Prepare preliminary and detailed material cost estimates for projects based on approved company pricing, material specifications, fabrication requirements and project conditions
• Prepare and issue quotations based on approved quantities, pricing and commercial terms
• Monitor awarded and ongoing projects to ensure that material quantities remain aligned with the original tender, approved drawings, site requirements and customer orders
• Identify potential variation orders, additional quantities, omissions and changes in scope during the project
• Review customer Purchase Orders against submitted quotations and approved quantities
• Provide updated project quantity forecasts to support production planning

About you

• Ability to review tender drawings, architectural drawings, structural drawings, specifications and schedules
• Experience in quantity take-off and measurement
• Ability to prepare Bill of Quantities and material schedules
• Experience in preparing material cost estimates
• Ability to prepare and issue quotations
• Experience in project monitoring and material forecasting
• Ability to identify and document variations and changes in scope
• Ability to coordinate with technical, sales, production and logistics teams
• Ability to attend site meetings and conduct site verification where required
