What they need
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and feasibility studies for construction projects
- Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs)
- Monitor project costs and control expenditure against approved budgets
- Prepare tender documents, evaluate bids, and negotiate contracts
- Manage variations, claims, and final accounts
- Certify interim and final payments to contractors and suppliers
- Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and site teams
- Assess risks and implement cost-control measures
- Ensure compliance with contractual, legal, and regulatory requirements
- Prepare regular financial reports and cost forecasts
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of construction methods and materials
- Proficiency in cost estimation software and MS Excel
- Professional certification (e.g., RICS, CIOB, AIQS) is an advantage
- Relevant experience in construction, infrastructure, or engineering projects
