Lee Builders is a locally owned construction and maintenance company in the Manawatū, with staff across the Manawatū, Kāpiti Coast, Wellington, Nelson, Blenheim and Christchurch regions.

We’re looking for another Quantity Surveyor to join the Lee Builders team. Our projects range from $10k maintenance jobs through to $3M+ construction projects, so there’s plenty to keep things interesting!

This role will be part-time, with flexible hours between 25-30 hours per week, depending on the successful candidate.

What will you be doing?

You’ll be involved in the commercial side of our projects from tender through to completion, including:

• Preparing tenders, including non-priced attributes
• Estimating and putting project budgets together
• Managing variations and back costing
• Cashflow forecasting
• Assisting with project programming
• Procuring and managing subcontractors
• Supporting our Project Managers and Commercial Managers
• Keeping an eye on the numbers, because someone has to!

What are we looking for?

We’re after someone who knows their way around a construction project and can hit the ground running. Ideally, you’ll have:

• A tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics
• 3+ years’ experience in commercial or residential estimating
• Familiarity with NZS 3910
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• A professional, practical approach
• Experience with Microsoft 365 and SimPro
• A good sense of humour and the ability to work well with a bunch of different personalities!
