Quantity Surveyor

About the role

A Quantity Surveyor role focused on managing costs, budgets, and contractual matters for construction projects. The role involves preparing cost estimates, Bills of Quantities, and tender documentation, monitoring project expenditures, and liaising with stakeholders to ensure cost efficiency and project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and Bills of Quantities (BQ) for construction projects
• Assist in tender preparation, including quantity take-offs, pricing, cost analysis, and evaluation of quotations
• Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and contract requirements
• Prepare and submit progress claims, variation orders (VO), and final accounts
• Monitor project costs, budgets, and expenditures to ensure cost efficiency
• Evaluate subcontractors' and suppliers' quotations, claims, and payments
• Conduct site visits and measurements to verify work progress and quantities
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams on contractual and cost-related matters
• Maintain proper records of project costs, contracts, claims, and supporting documentation
• Assist in identifying potential cost overrun and recommending cost-control measures

About you

• Possess a Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field
• Relevant working experience in the construction industry is preferred
• Knowledge of construction contracts, tendering procedures, cost estimation, and project cost control
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
• Good analytical, negotiation, organizational, and communication skills
• Able to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
• Willing to travel to project sites when required
