Quantity Surveyor

About the role

Tong Seng Fabricators Sdn Bhd is seeking experienced and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyors to support construction projects through effective cost planning, tender preparation, contract administration and project cost control.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare Bills of Quantities (BQ), quantity take-offs, cost estimates and project budgets.
• Review construction drawings, specifications and tender documents.
• Prepare and evaluate tender submissions, quotations and subcontractor proposals.
• Source and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure cost efficiency.
• Monitor project budgets, expenditure and cost variations throughout project execution.
• Prepare and verify progress claims, variation orders (VO) and final accounts.
• Assist in procurement, contract administration and subcontractor payment evaluations.
• Liaise with project managers, engineers, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Identify potential cost overruns and recommend appropriate cost-control measures.
• Maintain accurate project costing records, contracts and supporting documentation.

About you

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant working experience in the construction or engineering industry.
• Good knowledge of construction materials, quantity measurement, project costing and tender procedures.
• Experience in BQ preparation, tendering, progress claims, variation orders and final accounts.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and relevant quantity surveying software.
• Good communication, negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with project teams.
• Responsible, organised, detail-oriented and able to meet project deadlines.
