Quantity Surveyor

About the role

As a Quantity Surveyor at Aik Bee Construction Sdn. Bhd., you will be responsible for managing project costs, contract administration, tender processes, and financial aspects of construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare Bills of Quantities (BQ), tender documents, cost estimates, and tender evaluations
• Assist in pre-contract and post-contract administration, including tender clarification, evaluation, and contract awards
• Prepare and review Letters of Award (LOA), subcontract agreements, and contractual correspondence
• Monitor and manage variations (VO), extensions of time (EOT), and other contractual matters
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers on contractual matters
• Prepare project cost estimates, budgets, and cost analyses
• Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure competitive pricing
• Monitor project costs and identify potential cost overruns
• Prepare and submit monthly progress claims, variation claims, and supporting documents
• Maintain accurate records of project costs, variations, claims, and contractual correspondence

About you

• Minimum 2 years of working experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry
• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
• Experience in building and civil engineering construction projects is an advantage
• Good knowledge of pre-contract and post-contract quantity surveying practices
• Familiarity with construction contracts such as PAM, PWD/JKR, and CIDB requirements
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and quantity surveying software
• Good analytical, numerical, negotiation, and communication skills
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail, good time management, and ability to meet deadlines
