Quantity Surveyor

Industry: Fit-Out, Joinery & Construction

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in cost estimation, quantity surveying, BOQ preparation, and cost control for fit-out, joinery, and construction projects.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs), quantity take-offs, and cost estimates based on drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Review architectural, structural, MEP, and interior design drawings to ensure accurate measurements and cost calculations.
• Prepare tender submissions, cost breakdowns, and commercial proposals for fit-out, joinery, and construction projects.
• Obtain, review, and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.
• Estimate material, labour, fabrication, transportation, and installation costs.
• Prepare cost estimates for custom joinery, furniture, cabinetry, doors, wall panels, ceilings, partitions, flooring, and other interior finishing works.
• Monitor project budgets, actual costs, and expenditures to ensure projects remain within approved budgets.
• Coordinate with project managers, designers, site engineers, procurement, and workshop teams to verify quantities and project requirements.
• Conduct site visits and measurements to verify completed works and actual site conditions.
• Identify, evaluate, and prepare variation orders and additional work quotations.
• Review subcontractor payment applications, supplier invoices, and project progress claims.
• Prepare interim payment applications, cost reports, and project final accounts.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend cost-effective materials and construction methods without compromising quality.
• Maintain accurate records of BOQs, estimates, quotations, contracts, purchase orders, and variation claims.
• Ensure timely submission of estimates, tender documents, commercial reports, and other project-related documentation.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in fit-out, joinery, and construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of quantity take-offs, BOQ preparation, cost estimation, tendering, and cost control.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, MEP, and interior design drawings.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and AutoCAD; experience with estimating or quantity surveying software is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, numerical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet project deadlines.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with internal departments, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
