Quantity Surveyor (ELV / ICT)

About the role

We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor (QS) with ELV / ICT experience to support our commercial and contracts activities from pre-contract tendering through post-contract project completion. The successful candidate will be involved in tender costing, quantity take-off, supplier and subcontractor sourcing, progress claims, variation orders, cost control and final accounts for ELV and ICT projects.

Key responsibilities

Pre-Contract / Tender

• Review tender documents, drawings, specifications and Bills of Quantities (BQ)
• Carry out quantity take-off and cost estimation for ELV / ICT projects
• Prepare tender costing, quotations and commercial proposals
• Source quotations from suppliers, vendors and subcontractors
• Evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing and commercial terms
• Prepare cost comparison and tender analysis
• Identify scope gaps, exclusions, commercial risks and tender requirements
• Assist in tender clarification, value engineering and tender interviews
• Work closely with Business Development, Engineering and Project teams during tender preparation

Post-Contract / Project Commercial

• Prepare and submit monthly progress claims to clients and consultants
• Monitor certification and follow up on outstanding payment certificates
• Prepare and manage Variation Orders (VO), Additional Works and Extension of Time-related commercial submissions
• Evaluate subcontractor and supplier claims
• Monitor project budget, committed costs, actual costs and project profitability
• Prepare cost reports and identify potential cost overruns
• Maintain proper records for contractual and commercial matters
• Assist in project handover and commercial close-out
• Prepare and negotiate final accounts with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers
• Work closely with Project, Procurement, Finance and Business Development teams

About you

• Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering or related discipline
• Relevant experience in Quantity Surveying, Contracts or Commercial Management
• Experience or good knowledge in ELV / ICT systems is highly preferred
• Familiar with tender costing, quantity take-off, progress claims, variation orders and final accounts
• Able to read and understand drawings, specifications and BQ
• Good numerical, analytical and commercial skills
• Able to communicate and negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, consultants and clients
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Able to work independently and manage multiple tenders/projects simultaneously
