Key responsibilities

• Estimate costs for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracted work required for construction projects
• Manage project budgets, preliminary cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and cost data based on drawings and specifications
• Oversee pre-tender and post-contract activities, including tender preparation, contract documentation, measurements, and final account settlement
• Obtain quotations and negotiate prices and contractual terms with suppliers and subcontractors
• Prepare progress claims, review payments, monitor expenditures against forecasts, and manage project variations
• Coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure timely completion within the approved budget and contractual requirements
• Identify commercial and contractual risks, manage claims and disputes, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations
• Develop cost-saving solutions using alternative materials or construction methods without compromising quality
• Maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors while evaluating service quality and market pricing
• Lead and mentor junior quantity surveyors, evaluate subcontractor performance, and standardize quantity surveying procedures

About you

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
• Business-level English proficiency is a must
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in data center construction within a mechanical and electrical environment, including tender proposal experience for hyperscale data center projects.
• Previous quantity surveying experience is mandatory
• Strong knowledge of market pricing, cost benchmarking, vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors in data center construction
• Previous managerial experience or readiness to assume a managerial role
• Experience working with a Japanese general contractor is highly preferred
• Willing to travel to project and customer sites
• Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills
• Able to work responsibly and accurately under tight schedules and tender deadlines
