Quantity Surveyor Manager

The role

Our team is experiencing exciting growth and continues to secure key projects shaping the future of Auckland communities. With a growing pipeline of projects and a recession-proof business plan, we have an opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveying Manager to join our high-performing team located on the North Shore of Auckland. This is a Senior Role, reporting to the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

• Mentoring and leading a team of Quantity Surveyors and Estimators

• Managing and reviewing tenders, with a keen eye for detail to ensure pricing accuracy.

• Attending and leading client site meetings as required - confident and comfortable working with clients,

consultants, senior management, and suppliers.

• Overseeing and managing the preparation of purchase orders and subcontracts.

• Ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of reports required by clients including payment claims,

variations, site progress and cashflow.

• Preparation and presentation of regular progress reports to the Operations Manager, CEO and Directors

• Search, selection and management of suppliers and sub-contractors, continuously benchmarking pricing in

the market to drive the best commercial outcome.

What you will bring to the team

• 10+ years’ NZ experience in construction, preferably using NZS3910 or similar

• Estimation experience in multi-unit housing, civil site works, and $10m+ tenders

• Great people skills and the ability to work as a team

• Working knowledge of NZ construction systems, NZS3910 and the CCA

• Strong financial literacy and attention to detail, including reading plans and quotes

• Computer literacy – Excel, Outlook, Word. Experience with Cat Projects or Cost-X advantageous but not

essential.

• A track record of improving margin, profitability and cashflow
