ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

CoSauce is building South Africa's premier offshore commercial delivery team for the Australian construction industry. We connect exceptional local quantity surveying and commercial talent with leading Australian builders - giving you genuine, end-to-end exposure to major projects without leaving home.

We're growing our team and hiring five Contract Administrators to support one of our key partners: a Tier 2 head contractor delivering billions of dollars in property development across seniors living, residential, education, community and commercial sectors. You'll work as an embedded part of their commercial delivery teams, contributing directly to the success of live, technically challenging developments.

In the Australian market this role is titled "Contract Administrator," but the work maps closely to the South African quantity surveying discipline - cost management, procurement, subcontract administration and commercial control across the project lifecycle. A QS background is exactly what we're looking for.

HOW THIS ROLE MAKES AN IMPACT

As a Contract Administrator at CoSauce, you'll play a pivotal role in driving the commercial performance of live building projects on behalf of our Australian partner.

Working alongside an Australian-based Project Director and divisional Contracts Manager, you'll take ownership of procurement strategy, subcontractor management, head contract administration and project financial performance across complex developments.

You'll collaborate closely with the site delivery team, consultants and client representatives to ensure commercial risks are managed proactively, subcontractor performance stays strong, and project outcomes are delivered safely, efficiently and profitably.

This role suits a commercially minded QS or contracts professional who enjoys taking ownership, influencing outcomes and working closely with experienced delivery leaders on technically demanding projects.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY MIGHT INCLUDE

• Leading procurement strategy, including tendering, package scoping and subcontract negotiations

• Managing project budgets, forecasts, cost reports and cash flow performance

• Administering the head contract, including variations, EOTs, notices and commercial correspondence

• Overseeing subcontractor agreements, claims, variations, progress payments and compliance

• Driving cost control and value engineering initiatives across the project lifecycle

• Preparing monthly project reports, including financial, risk and programme updates

• Working closely with the Project Director and site team to resolve commercial and contractual matters proactively

• Maintaining strong relationships with consultants, subcontractors and client representatives

• Supporting project delivery through structure, facade, finishes and handover phases

ABOUT YOU

You are a seasoned quantity surveyor or contracts professional who thinks like an owner and thrives on creating value through strong commercial judgement, risk awareness and attention to detail.

You understand that cash is king on construction projects, and you take a conscientious, proactive approach to protecting commercial outcomes, managing risk early and maintaining strong financial discipline across the full project lifecycle.

You'll bring:

• 5-8+ years' experience in quantity surveying, cost management or contract administration with a head contractor or main contractor

• A track record of delivering 3+ end-to-end building projects through to completion

• Strong capability across procurement, subcontract negotiation and head contract administration

• A detailed understanding of subcontractor claims, variations, extensions of time, cost reporting and forecasting

• Strong commercial acumen with a clear understanding of risk, entitlement and cash flow management

• A conscientious approach to contract administration, documentation and financial control

• Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams

• Confidence identifying issues early, communicating clearly and driving practical commercial outcomes

• A proactive, "get it done" mindset with the ability to stay calm under pressure

• A tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline (BSc/BTech/Diploma); SACQSP registration or progress toward it is highly regarded

• Excellent written and spoken English, and comfort collaborating across time zones with an Australian-based team
