QUANTITY SURVEYOR (STEEL CONSTRUCTION)

About the role

This role involves strategic planning and execution of steelwork construction projects aligned with business goals and timelines. You will manage structural steel expertise, project costs, site operations, and lead multi-disciplinary teams while ensuring safety, quality, and compliance with specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute steelwork construction projects aligned with business goals and timelines
• Demonstrate strong understanding of steel structure design, fabrication, erection methods, and safety standards
• Manage project costs through estimation, budgeting, procurement planning, and financial reporting
• Monitor project expenses, identify variances, and implement corrective actions
• Supervise on-site steel erection, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance with specifications
• Assess project risks and implement health and safety protocols in line with construction regulations
• Manage multi-disciplinary teams, subcontractors, and site personnel
• Coordinate with clients, engineers, fabricators, and suppliers
• Handle construction contracts, variations, and dispute resolution in steelwork projects

About you

• Professional Certificate/NiTEC, Diploma or equivalent qualification
• At least 2 years of working experience in the related field
• Specializing in Structural Steelwork and Architectural Metalwork, or Civil Engineering and Building Constructions
• Experience as Quantity Surveyor with Construction Industry in preparing Cost Estimation, Bills of Quantities, Tender Documents, Quotations and Contracts (added advantage)
• Able to understand all construction and shop-drawing
• Good knowledge in MS Office Word and Excel
• Bilingual (English and Chinese) preferred
• Able to multi-task and prioritize workload to meet client set deadlines
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
