Quantity Surveyor (Steel Structural/ PEB)

We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor with strong technical knowledge in structural steel and Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB), combined with commercial and sales acumen, to drive project development and secure new business opportunities.

The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for leading and managing the entire tendering process for structural steel and Pre-Engineered Building (PEB) projects in the local market. This includes taking ownership from the moment customer inquiries are received, through the preparation of comprehensive technical-commercial proposals, and ensuring a smooth handover to the project execution team.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities, but not limited to:

• Manage tendering aspects of a large scale, complex, or significant engineering project, to ensure correct estimation for schedule and budget.
• Estimate of labour, material costs of manufacturing and engineering based on request for proposal (RFP) data submitted by prospective customers and business/channel partners.
• Analyze specifications, including sketches, blueprints, bill of material, or sample layouts and calculate production cost using labour and material pricing schedules and historical data.
• Study the Invitation to Bid (ITB) for the project and report the summary of contents and requirements and prepare necessary data and information such as index of ‘documents to be submitted’ in most timely manner.
• Prepare or check correspondences in connection with the proposal to the Customers and Business/Channel Partners.
• Collaborate with vendors, partners and internal project leads to provide correct tender price to ensure successful implementation of projects within budget
• Liaise with other operational areas in the organization (e.g. sales, design, detail) to secure specialized resources and contribution for the project tender process.
• Assist to develop proposal strategy, procedures and documents, and maintain the records for future project references.
• Perform, other than all of the above, whatever duties entrusted by the Sales Manager in respect of the proposal related activities.

Relevant Experience & Qualifications:

• Diploma/ bachelor’s degree in civil, Structural orQuantity Surveying (QS) or equivalent
• At least 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience in Structural engineering consultant firms, Pre-Engineered Building (PEB) manufacturers, structural steel fabrication companies, or design-build contractors, Industrial building product suppliers (e.g., roofing systems, wall panels, insulation, and cladding systems related to steel buildings)
• Demonstrated hands-on exposure to structural steel systems, PEB buildings, or industrial steel structures.
• Prior experience in design support, estimation, tendering, proposal preparation, or technical sales is strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings as well as technical specifications.
• Familiarity with international and local building codes and regulations.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to speak in English will be preferred.
• A self-motivated, analytical, and results-driven individual with strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
