CED Fabrications is a leading sheet metal fabrication company specialising in high-quality stainless steel products for the commercial catering equipment sector. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Laser & Punch Programmer to join our busy Drawing & Planning Office.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled individual with a strong sheet metal background and experience using Radan CAD/CAM software to play a key role in supporting our manufacturing operations.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Programming CNC laser and punch machinery using Radan CAD/CAM software
• Creating efficient nests and manufacturing programs to maximise material utilisation and productivity
• Reading and interpreting customer drawings, specifications and technical information
• Producing and amending manufacturing drawings where required
• Liaising with shopfloor personnel to ensure manufacturing requirements are met
• Working closely with customers and internal departments to resolve technical queries

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone with:

• Previous experience programming CNC laser and/or punch machines within a sheet metal fabrication environment
• Strong working knowledge of Radan CAD/CAM software however, training can be given if the candidate has other relevant experience
• Experience programming Amada laser and/or punch machines would be highly advantageous
• A solid understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes and manufacturing techniques
• The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and customer specifications
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills and a professional telephone manner
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Desirable Skills

The following would be an advantage:

• Experience producing GA drawings and sheet metal developments
• 2D and/or 3D CAD experience
• Previous experience within the commercial catering equipment industry
