Radiation Protection Officer

Hydro Metal (M) Sdn Bhd is an establish company since 1999. Our company has operated a scrap metal recycling and precious metal recovery facility. We are now an experienced and competent waste management and scrap metal recycling specialist licensed by Department of Environment (DOE) of Malaysia

We are seeking a Certified Radiation Protection Officer (RPO) to oversee the safe use of ionizing radiation equipment, specifically XRF guns, in our facility. The RPO will ensure compliance with regulatory standards, maintain safety programs, and act as the primary contact with regulatory authorities (AELB / Atom Malaysia).

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain radiation protection programs in accordance with Malaysian regulations.
• Monitor radiation exposure levels, conduct inspections, and ensure equipment safety compliance.
• Provide training and guidance on radiation safety to all relevant staff.
• Maintain accurate records of radiation monitoring, dosimeter readings, and regulatory documentation.
• Serve as the main contact with AELB / Atom Malaysia and assist during audits or inspections.
• Advise management on safety improvements and regulatory updates.

Requirement

• Certified Radiation Protection Officer (RPO) registered with AELB (Mandatory).
• Diploma or Degree in Science, Engineering, Health Physics, or related technical field.
• Experience handling ionizing radiation equipment such as XRF guns.
• Knowledge of radiation safety, regulations, and best practices.
• Strong documentation, communication, and reporting skills.
• Ability to develop safety programs and conduct risk assessments.
• Minimum Degree in Engineering, Biochemistry, physic or any equivalent.
• Certified/Registered Chemist is desirable/preferable
• Able to communicate in Malay, English and advantage in Mandarin

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
