Job Overview

We are looking for a certified, patient-oriented, and meticulous Radiographer / Medical Imaging Technologist to join our Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging Department. The selected candidate will be responsible for operating radiographic, fluoroscopic, CT, and/or MRI scanning systems to produce high-diagnostic-quality images while adhering strictly to radiation safety standards (ALARA principles) and ensuring patient comfort.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Diagnostic Imaging & Technical Operations

Perform general, trauma, and specialized diagnostic X-ray procedures using Digital Radiography (DR) and Computed Radiography (CR) systems.

Position patients accurately for standard and modified radiographic projections (skeletal, chest, abdomen, spine, skull, and extremity imaging).

Operate specialized imaging modalities based on posting and training:

Computed Tomography (CT): Perform routine and emergency CT scans (head, chest, abdomen, angiograms, trauma protocols).

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI): Assist in patient screening for ferromagnetic implants, coil placement, and sequence execution.

Fluoroscopy & C-Arm: Operate Mobile C-Arm systems in Operation Theatres (OT) during orthopedic, urological, and spine surgeries.

Mammography & Bone Densitometry (DEXA): Conduct routine screenings with sensitivity and precision.

Adjust technical exposure factors (kVp,mA,mAs, exposure time) according to patient body habitus to ensure optimal image clarity while minimizing radiation exposure.

  1. Radiation Safety & Patient Care (ALARA Principle)

Strictly implement ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) radiation protection protocols.

Provide and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (lead aprons, thyroid shields, gonadal shielding) for patients, attendants, and staff.

Wear and manage TLD (Thermo-Luminescent Dosimeter) badges regularly in accordance with AERB (Atomic Energy Regulatory Board) guidelines.

Screen patients for contraindications, explain imaging procedures clearly in Malayalam, alleviate anxiety, and verify pregnancy status in patients of childbearing age before radiation exposure.

Assist the radiologist during contrast-enhanced examinations (IV contrast administration, monitoring for adverse allergic reactions or extravasation).

  1. PACS, Quality Control & Documentation

Post-process raw imaging data, eliminate artifacts, format slices, and transmit studies seamlessly via PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) / RIS to Radiologists for reporting.

Perform routine quality assurance (QA) checks, equipment calibrations, and promptly report hardware/software faults to biomedical engineering or service engineers.

Maintain comprehensive imaging logbooks, radiation safety logs, contrast usage records, and inventory of radiology consumables.

Required Qualifications & Competencies

  1. Education & Certification

Degree :

B.Sc Medical Imaging Technology (B.Sc MIT / BRIT) (3-year degree + 1-year internship),

Familiarity with AERB (Atomic Energy Regulatory Board) radiation safety regulations.

  1. Clinical Experience

Open to fresh graduates with completed hospital internship.

1 to 3+ years of hands-on experience in a multi-specialty hospital radiology department or advanced diagnostic scan center is preferred.

Multi-modality competence (e.g., capable of handling both X-Ray and CT / C-Arm) is a strong advantage.

  1. Key Skills & Personal Attributes

Sound knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, radiographic pathology, and imaging physics.

Languages: Fluent in Malayalam (essential for reassuring and instructing patients) and good working knowledge of English (for medical protocols, RIS/PACS entry, and radiologist coordination).

High physical endurance, calm demeanor under emergency/trauma pressures, and a polite, patient-first attitude.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: ₹18,000 – ₹32,000 per month (based on qualification, years of experience, and whether handling plain X-Ray, C-Arm, CT, or MRI).

Additional Allowances: Night duty allowances, emergency on-call allowances, and overtime pay.

Statutory Benefits: PF, ESI, gratuity, and health coverage as per institution policy.

Environment: Advanced diagnostic infrastructure with modern DR systems, multi-slice CT, and high-field MRI units.

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹32,000.00 per month
