Radiology Systems Architect

We’re looking for an experienced Radiology Systems Architect to advise health system clients as they build and grow teleradiology and enterprise imaging programs. You’ll guide clients from strategy and requirements through vendor selection, contract negotiation and implementation oversight, all the way to go-live. This is an advisory role. You’ll work alongside client leadership, radiologists, IT teams and vendors as a trusted, independent expert.

What You’ll Do

Strategy and assessment

• Assess current imaging workflows, including image exchange, order intake and matching, priors retrieval, worklists, dictation and report delivery
• Identify manual work, capacity limits and risks that stand in the way of scaling
• Lead the system evaluation of PACS and teleradiology vendors to find the best fit for our clients
• Share industry best practices and lessons learned from multi-client reading programs

Requirements & Vendor Selection

• Lead requirements workshops with clinical, technical, business and legal stakeholders
• Write RFPs, manage vendor Q&A and analyze proposals
• Build evaluation criteria, scripted demonstrations and weighted scoring
• Conduct customer reference checks and total cost of ownership analysis
• Present selection recommendations to executive steering committees

Contract and implementation advisory

• Advise on service levels, commercial terms, data ownership and retention, BAA provisions and exit terms
• Build implementation roadmaps and readiness plans
• Take part in project governance, and track vendor performance against milestones and service levels
• Review future-state workflows, integration plans and testing
• Lead go-live readiness assessments, support go-live and stabilization, and run lessons-learned reviews

What We’re Looking For

• Ability to lead discussions and drive decisions around PACS selections.
• Experience with nation-wide teleradiology and multi-site, multi-client reading programs
• Experience with large scale PACS replacement and enterprise imaging strategy projects
• 7+ years of experience in radiology or enterprise imaging informatics, such as PACS administration, imaging IT leadership or imaging consulting
• Deep knowledge of PACS, RIS, dictation and reporting systems, worklists, image exchange, and EHR integration
• Working knowledge of DICOM, HL7 and imaging integration workflows
• Experience leading or supporting RFPs, vendor selections and system implementations
• Understanding of HIPAA, data retention and security considerations in imaging
• Excellent facilitation, writing and presentation skills, including with physicians and executives
• Ability to work independently and manage several workstreams at once

Engagement Details

• Project-based, with full-time hours during strategy and selection phases and reduced part-time hours during implementation
• Mostly remote, with occasional on-site visits to clients as needed

Pay: From $120.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
