Radiology Technician - PRN

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Radiology Technician to join our healthcare team on a PRN (as-needed) basis. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge in simple plain X-ray procedures and radiation safety protocols. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to diagnostic evaluations with a focus on delivering high-quality imaging services that support accurate diagnosis and patient outcomes. The Radiology Technician will operate MOBILE X-RAY medical imaging equipment and ensure adherence to safety standards while providing compassionate patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of simple plain digital X-ray, travelling to patient homes.
• Operate and maintain radiologic imaging equipment with precision, ensuring optimal image quality for diagnostic purposes and mobilize equipment carefully as needed.
• Implement radiation safety procedures diligently to protect patients, staff, and oneself from unnecessary exposure.
• Assist in Urgent Care settings by providing timely imaging support.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to facilitate diagnostic radiology procedures by prompt phone communication and timely reporting of results.
• Maintain accurate documentation of procedures performed and ensure proper handling of medical records in compliance with privacy regulations.
• Adhere strictly to aseptic technique or maintain a sterile environment if required.
• Provide compassionate patient care by explaining procedures clearly, ensuring comfort, and addressing patient or caregiver concerns effectively.
• Stay current with advancements in medical imaging technology and radiation safety practices through ongoing education, and maintain State documentation .

Requirements

• Current licensure is not necessary . Tech schedules the patients.
• Proven experience operating radiologic equipment for X-ray radiography
• Prior experience working in urgent care settings or emergency rooms advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
• Familiar on radiation safety procedures & implementing radiation protection.
• Ability to perform imaging procedures accurately and rapidly.
• Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically.
• Knowledge of medical equipment operation combined with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues efficiently.
• Safe driving, insurable with valid TDL.
• Dental x-ray experience eligible.
• Demonstrated seriousness and responsibility.
