Rail Systems Integration Engineer / Vendor & Technical Project Coordination

Mon - Fri, office hour. 830am to 530pm. No oncall, no shift.

Subcontractor & Vendor Work Supervision
o Act as MHI’s primary technical owner overseeing the System Integrator’s (SI) turnkey design, configuration, and integration workflows.
o Review and approve all SI engineering deliverables, including logical/physical network architecture, capacity calculations, and CAD layouts.
o Supervise physical installations to ensure wiring schematics and mounting designs match approved guidelines without encroaching on train safety clearances (physical) and EMF interferences.

Hardware & Infrastructure Compliance Assurance
o Audit and enforce onboard hardware compliance with rolling stock standards (EN 50155, EN 45545-2 HL3, EN 50121-3-2) and IMDA/Telco 5G SA rules.
o Oversee deployment of Edge PCs, Data Diodes, Firewalls/ VPN, Managed Switches, and 5G Industrial Routers (Dual SIM, Private APN etc).
o Supervise OCC backend setup, validating the High-Availability Centralised Storage Server (CSS) and Firewall/VPN gateways.

Data Acquisition & Network Integration
o Manage configuration and stability of onboard wireless links (BLE/Zigbee/LoRaWAN/Wi-Fi) governed by the SI's RF Coexistence Study.
o Direct the integration of raw MVCS PLC telemetry and wired/wireless sensors.
o Verify edge processing behaviors, specifically Edge FFT filtering and automated Train ID/Timestamp data directory sorting.

Cybersecurity & Network Resilience Governance
o Strictly enforce the Zero-Inbound Policy by auditing the physical and logical configuration of the Unidirectional Hardware Data Diode.
o Witness and drive the 4-step Threat, Vulnerability & Risk Assessment (TVRA) to compliance with IEC 62443 and LTA guidelines.
o Validate store-and-forward mechanics and local buffering (min. 3-day on diode; 7-day on IoT) to secure Zero Data Loss during 5G link restoration.

Testing, Commissioning, & Acceptance Validation
o Lead and witness the formal Acceptance Test Procedure (ATP)
o Develop and implement Test Plans and ensure vendor reports against strict KPIs
o Verify manual USB data transfer capabilities, ensuring encrypted standalone logs merge cleanly into the CSS with a complete audit trail.

Communication & Stakeholder Management
Internal Coordination
o Maintain proactive communication with the Design Engineers and Project Manager, and Project Team to provide real-time updates on allocated works.

External Liaison
o Act as a technical point of contact for external stakeholders, including LTA (Land Transport Authority) and SBST (SBS Transit), to facilitate joint inspections and system handovers.

Ad-hoc Project Support
Provide flexible support for miscellaneous technical tasks as directed by the Project or Commissioning Manager.
