R&D Assistant Manager / Senior Engineer/ Engineer (CAD/CAM)

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage R&D activities related to plastic packaging products, especially in thermoforming and moulding processes.
• Design and develop moulds/tools based on customer specifications, drawings, and product requirements.
• Oversee tooling development, including concept design, fabrication, testing, and improvement.
• Coordinate and optimize CNC machining processes for mould manufacturing (milling, turning, etc.).
• Work closely with designer, production to understand requirements and provide technical solutions and design improvements.
• Conduct product development trials, troubleshooting, and validation to ensure quality and performance.
• Collaborate with production teams to ensure smooth transfer from R&D to mass manufacturing.
• Improve manufacturing efficiency, reduce defects, and enhance product quality through process optimization.
• Manage project timelines, costs, and documentation for new product development.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the R&D team.

Technical Scope:

• Plastic thermoforming processes.
• Mould design (vacuum forming, pressure forming, etc.)
• Tooling fabrication and maintenance.
• CNC programming and machining knowledge.
• Material selection (PET, PP, etc.) for packaging applications.

Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
• Strong experience in plastic packaging / thermoforming industry.
• Proficiency in CAD CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, NX, etc.)
• Knowledge of CNC machining and tooling design.
• Experience in project management and product development lifecycle.
• Leadership and problem-solving skills.
