R&D Chemist

Job Purpose

To assist in laboratory experiments, product trials, and process improvements under the supervision of senior R&D staff, supporting innovation and development in chemical manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

• Laboratory Support
• Conduct basic lab experiments as per instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Measure and mix chemical substances accurately for trials.
• Record observations, test results, and maintain lab notebooks.
• Product & Process Trials
• Assist in product development and application testing under supervision.
• Support scale-up activities from lab to pilot plant.
• Data Collection & Documentation
• Prepare test reports, maintain documentation, and help in compiling technical data.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity in all recorded data.
• Quality & Safety Compliance
• Follow all safety guidelines and wear required PPE in lab and production areas.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in the laboratory.
• Cross-functional Coordination
• Coordinate with the Production, Quality Control, and Purchase teams for materials and sample testing.
• Assist in customer sample preparation or technical support when required.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong theoretical knowledge in chemistry or chemical engineering principles
• Basic laboratory skills and handling of glassware/instruments
• Eagerness to learn new techniques and processes
• Good observation, documentation, and communication skills
• Familiarity with MS Office (Excel, Word)
• Understanding of safety practices in a chemical lab (preferred)

This is an entry-level role with exposure to hands-on research, new product development, and process improvement in a real-time manufacturing setup. Candidates demonstrating initiative and learning agility can grow into roles such as R&D Chemist, Process Development Executive, or Technical Officer within 2–3 years.

Pay: From ₹17,500.00 per month
