R&D ENGINEER

About the role

Supercomal Medical Products Sdn Bhd. is seeking an experienced R&D Engineer to join our R&D Engineering team in Sungai Petani, Kedah. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in driving innovation and technological advancement within our medical products division. As an R&D Engineer, you will be at the forefront of developing cutting-edge medical devices and electronic solutions that improve patient outcomes and enhance healthcare delivery. Your work will directly contribute to our company's mission of delivering high-quality medical products to the global market.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and prototype electrical and electronic components for medical devices and equipment
• Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments for new product concepts and innovations
• Perform testing of electronic systems to ensure compliance with medical device standards and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, and quality assurance to bring products from concept to commercialisation
• Troubleshoot technical issues and optimise existing product designs for performance and cost-effectiveness
• Maintain detailed documentation of design specifications, test results, and engineering drawings
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory standards within the medical device sector
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process optimisation within the R&D department
• Support the preparation of technical documentation for regulatory submissions and certifications

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
• Minimum 2-5 years of professional experience in R&D, product development, or design engineering
• Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic circuit design, PCB design, and embedded systems
• Experience with medical device development, healthcare electronics, or life sciences technology
• Familiarity with relevant regulatory standards such as ISO 13485 and FDA guidelines
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Project management experience and the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Experience with prototyping, testing equipment, and laboratory instrumentation
