ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking an R&D Engineer for a leader in sustainable wood products and building solutions. This would be a great opportunity for someone with which would be a great opportunity for someone with experience with civil/structural engineering within wood products engineering. This is a unique opportunity to join a well established company re-engaging their R&D engine to create new products!

• Develop innovative wood-based building solutions using structural analysis, engineering principles, and mechanical testing

• Apply building codes and design standards (IBC, IRC, NDS, ASCE) to evaluate code compliance and inform product development pathways

• Design, plan, and oversee structural testing programs including test configuration, execution, data analysis, and technical reporting

• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and wood science teams to advance products from concept development through pilot evaluation and commercialization

• Support product enhancements and identify development pathways for new products in support of market objectives

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or related Engineering discipline

• Professional Engineer (PE) license required

• 5+ years of professional engineering experience with strong knowledge of North American building codes (IBC, IRC, NDS) and structural design principles

• Experience with wood design, engineered wood products, or building materials; demonstrated expertise in structural analysis and technical problem-solving
