R&D Executive

About the role

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior R&D Executive to join our Research & Development team in the food manufacturing industry. The successful candidate will assist in new product development, product improvement, food trials, and quality-related activities to ensure our products meet customer requirements and company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in new food product development and existing product improvement.
• Conduct product sampling and sensory evaluations.
• Assist in preparing and modifying product formulations, recipes, and ingredient specifications.
• Support factory trials and coordinate with the Production team to ensure smooth product transfer from R&D to production.
• Monitor product quality, consistency, and performance during development and production trials.
• Maintain accurate records of formulations, trial results, samples, and R&D documentation.
• Assist in shelf-life studies and product stability testing.
• Coordinate with Production, QA/QC, Purchasing, and other departments on product development activities.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and company requirements during product development and trials.
• Perform other R&D-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

About you

• Diploma or Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Engineering, Food Chemistry, or a related field.
• 2-3 years of working experience in R&D, product development, or a related field within the food manufacturing industry.
• Interest in food product development and the food manufacturing industry.
• Willingness to participate in hands-on product trials and factory production trials.
• Good attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
• Able to work independently as well as in a team.
• Good communication skills and a positive learning attitude.
• Basic knowledge of food labelling regulations and requirements, including ingredient declarations, allergen declarations, nutritional information, and food labelling compliance.
• Knowledge of Malaysian Food Regulations 1985 is an added advantage.
